The annual New York Times Travel Show will be held this weekend at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The travel show features many unique tour operators, cruise lines, hotels, airlines, tourism boards (both domestically and international) and more. It is a great opportunity to uncover secret destinations, obtain literature on popular tourist spots and speak with destination and industry experts.
There are cultural shows from many nations and even some food sampling of worldwide cuisine at select times.
If you desire, there are also travel agents present to book your next vacation on the spot.
I have personally attended the show previous years and have found it to be educational. I always leave the show with bags full of brochures and more potential vacation options.
The show is open to the public on Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM. I recommend you arrive early - especially on Sunday since some vendors may leave early. Also bring a backpack tor shopping bag(s) to carry home all your treasures.
Discount tickets are available for tickets purchased BEFORE Janaury 18,2013.
