The Grandeur of the Seas is preparing to make her grand re-introduction after completing repairs.  The stern of the ship was extensively damaged on May 27 when a fire erupted on the rear mooring deck. As a precautionary measure passengers were asked to assemble on deck in the middle of the night. The fire was quickly under control and the ship was able to proceed under her own power to Freeport, in the Bahamas

Since then, the ship has been in the Grand Bahamas Shiyard undergoing repairs.

The fully restored Grandeur of the Seas arrived in Baltimore on Wednesday  (7/10) after undergoing 6 weeks of repairs. Upon arriving in Baltimore, she sailed on an overnight cruise for the media, and travel agents to showcase the ship.

The Grandeur will resume her regular cruise schedule from Baltimore starting today - July 12. Current schedules have the Grandeur of the Seas deparing Baltimore though April 2015.

As a side note: In preparation for  her series of sailings from Baltimore, the Grandeur underwent a major, $48 Million dollar refit in Cadiz, Spain in 2012
